Stainless Steel 420 Flat Bar is a flat, rectangular-shaped bar made from Grade 420 stainless steel, a martensitic stainless steel known for its high hardness, excellent polishability, and good corrosion resistance in mild environments. It contains high carbon content (up to 0.15%) and around 12–14% chromium, which allows it to be hardened by heat treatment. This flat bar is commonly used in applications where wear resistance, cutting edge retention, and surface finish are important. Typical uses include cutlery, surgical instruments, mold tools, valves, and pump components. While 420 offers decent corrosion resistance, it performs best in dry or mildly corrosive environments, and is not recommended for marine or highly acidic conditions. Stainless Steel 420 Flat Bar combines strength, machinability, and the ability to attain a very sharp edge, making it ideal for precision-engineered and high-wear parts.
