Pass box is a kind of facility used for transferring goods between inside and outside of cleanroom. It is normally located on partition walls of cleanroom. It can prevent any disturbance of airflow and air pressure in clean room, which can be caused by the door opening for goods transferring.A pass box, which is also called a transfer hatch or SAS pass (sterile access system), works as a barrier between areas with different levels of cleanliness when materials do have to be moved. The equipment is used to transfer material from an area of lower cleanliness to an area of higher cleanliness, and vice versaPass box is one of the cleanroom systems, which is used to transfer materials from one side to other side through controlled environment in order to avoid airborne cross contamination.In pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, pass boxes are normally used to transfer a particular material between two areas generally of different cleanliness levels.
