The Starfish™ Evo Heart Positioner (Model HP3000) is a sterile, single-use medical device designed to stabilize and position the heart during off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB) procedures. It attaches to the sternotomy retractor and utilizes a regulated vacuum of -400 mm Hg to secure a multi-appendage silicone suction cup to the heart's surface, facilitating enhanced visualization and access to coronary vessels. Mounting Compatibility: Designed to attach to most adult median sternotomy retractors. Single-Handed Application: Allows for ease of setup during surgery. Sterility: Sterile, nonpyrogenic, and intended for single use only. Vacuum Suction: Utilizes up to -400 mm Hg of suction for secure attachment. Should only be used on the apex of the heart and on the left ventricle immediately proximal to the apex. Avoid attaching to newly infarcted tissue, aneurysmal tissue, directly over a coronary artery, or fragile tissue.Ensure the canister is oriented in a vertical position and not filled past the maximum capacity line.Reusing, reprocessing, or resterilizing any component may compromise the device's structural integrity and pose risks to patient safety.
