Gravity die casting was one of the very earliest processes to be invented for metal and light alloy die casting. In this process which can be fully automated, the molten metal is poured directly from a ladle into a semi-permanent or permanent die.Gravity Die Casting is a permanent mould casting process, where the molten metal is poured from a vessel or ladle into the mould. The mould cavity fills with no force other than gravity, filling can be controlled by tilting the die.There are two basic types of die casting machines: hot-chamber machines and cold-chamber machines. These are rated by how much clamping force they can apply.There are two main types of this process: Gravity Die Casting (GDC) and Pressure Die Casting (PDC). In GDC, molten metal is poured into the mould using gravity. In PDC, the molten metal in injected into the mould under pressureSometimes referred to as permanent mould, Gravity Die Casting (GDC) is a repeatable casting process used for non-ferrous alloy parts, typically aluminium, zinc and copper base alloys.In Gravity Die Casting, the molten metal is poured into the mould from above, which fills from the bottom up, purely under gravitational force.
