A Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger is a pressure vessel designed to efficiently transfer heat between two process fluids. It consists of a cylindrical shell housing a tube bundle, where one fluid flows through the tubes (tube side) and the other flows across the tubes within the shell (shell side). Heat is transferred through the tube walls by conduction and enhanced by convection due to induced turbulence. ypes Available Fixed Tube Sheet: Economical, suited for clean fluids. U-Tube Design: Allows thermal expansion, ideal for high-temperature services. Floating Head Design: Facilitates easy cleaning of both shell and tube side, used for fouling services. Design Specifications Design Pressure: Up to 50 bar (higher on request). Design Temperature: –40°C to +400°C (depending on material of construction). Heat Transfer Area: 1 m² to 1000+ m². Tube Diameter: Typically 12.7 mm, 15.88 mm, 19.05 mm OD. Tube Lengths: 1 m to 6 m (longer available). Tube Materials: SS316/304, Carbon Steel, Titanium, Copper, Cu-Ni alloys, Inconel. Shell Materials: Carbon Steel, SS316/304, Alloy Steel. Standards: Designed as per TEMA, ASME Section VIII Div.1, IS, or API requirements.
