A thermocouple wire with ceramic fiber insulation is a high-temperature sensing wire made of two dissimilar metals, insulated with ceramic fiber material. It is used to measure temperature in very hot environments (up to ~1000–1260°C), where normal insulation would fail. The ceramic fiber protects the wire from heat and provides electrical insulation. Common uses include furnaces, kilns, and industrial heat processes
