The acronym IGBT stands for “Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors”. These are high-speed switching devices used in all Weldclass Inverter welding machines which facilitate the voltage regulation. Some inverter machines use older MOSFET technology / transistors.MIG (metal inert gas) welding uses a feed wire that constantly moves through the gun to create the spark, then melts to form the weld. It uses a semi-automatic or automatic arc. SOURCE. TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding uses long rods to fuse two metals directly together.
