A bonnet lock (also called a hood latch) is a safety locking mechanism that keeps the vehicle’s bonnet (hood) securely closed while driving and allows it to be opened when needed for maintenance.
⚙️ Main Components-
Primary Latch

The main locking part that holds the bonnet tightly closed.

Engages with a metal loop called the striker.

Secondary Safety Catch

A backup lock.
-
Prevents the bonnet from flying open if the primary latch fails.

Release Lever (Inside Cabin)

Located near the driver’s seat (usually below dashboard).

Used to unlock the primary latch.

Release Cable

Connects the inside lever to the latch mechanism.

Pulling the lever pulls this cable.
