A two post hydraulic lift works on following principle that putting pressure on a non-compressible fluid in a cylinder will exert equal force to all sides of the container. A Hydraulic Two post lift consists of two upright columns with four adjustable arms attached to a carriage assembly and two hydraulic cylinders.A post lift is a lifting device which is typically used to raise vehicles inside buildings for easy repair and maintenance access. Most post lifts are above ground, but there are also in-ground varieties.A two post above ground lift is designed to raise cars and trucks for easy access to wheel assemblies and the underside of the vehicle. A two post above ground lift is normally mounted to an existing concrete surface. Minimal concrete depth required for a two post above ground lift is four inches.An advantage to frame contact lifts is that the wheels hang free, which makes it easier to perform tire, brake and suspension work. They also provide better access to the underside of the vehicle for many other types of service.
