While most stainless steels demonstrate resistance to varying concentrations of sulfuric acid, alloy 904L proves to be the most resilient of them. And therefore, most manufacturers recommend the use of grade 904L Stainless Steel Seamless Tube for applications that specifically use sulfuric acid or in those applications where sulfuric acid is a by-product. Sulfuric acid is a highly corrosive solution, and in higher concentrations, causes materials to disintegrate. And so, using a resilient material like ASTM B673 UNS N08904 ERW Tube befits these applications. Since copper is an addition to the alloy, the resistance to sulfuric acid has been attributed as a factor.
