VFD stands for Variable Frequency Drive. These panels are mainly used to control the speed of the electric motors and also of the feed pumps that are used in various industrial facilities.A variable frequency drive (VFD) is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage of its power supply. The VFD also has the capacity to control ramp-up and ramp-down of the motor during start or stop, respectively.The VFD Panel (Variable Frequency drive panel) also known as VFD Control Panel are designed to control the speed of the electric motor and feed pump. They are widely used in drilling, pumping and other large machine applications like Conveyor and Compressor.A variable frequency drive controls the speed of an AC motor by varying the frequency supplied to the motor, VFDs control the frequency and voltage of the AC signal. Adjusting the frequency of an AC motor controls its speed, while changing the voltage will change the torque provided by the motor, A variable frequency drive (VFD) refers to AC drives only and a variable speed drive (VSD) refers to either AC Drives or DC Drives. VFDs vary the speed of an AC motor by varying the frequency to the motor. VSDs referring to DC motors vary the speed by varying the voltage to the motor.
