1 Wire is drawn from a coil and fed into the nail-making machine where it is gripped by a pair of gripper dies. Nails are usually made of steel but can also be made of stainless steel, iron, copper, aluminum, or bronze.Wire nails are mostly used for very rough and heavy duty woodwork. Manufacture of these nails starts with a coil of wire which is fed into a machine that cuts it into predetermined lengths. Once the wire is cut, the machine creates the nail's head and point after which it falls into a holding bin.
