The surface must also befree from oil, grease, wax or any other form of foreign matterwhich might affect adhesion. Spalled and deeply disintegratedconcrete or mortar must be removed to a sound substrate andrepaired suitably before coating.Hydroproof XtraPrimingBefore application, the surface should be primed with HydroproofXtra as follows:1 part of Hydroproof Xtra : 2 parts of Water : 4 parts of CementMixed material with the above proportion will cover an area of16-17m2 for 1L of Hydroproof Xtra.TopcoatHydroproof Xtra acrylic polymer shall be mixed with neat cementin the ratio of 1:2 respectively, to obtain a uniform andconsistent slurry avoiding any lump formation. This can beachieved with a low duty, low speed drilling machine attachedwith a mixing paddle. Do not mix for more than 2 minutes. Donot mix more material than which can be used within the potlife. Retempering the mix with water should not be done. Occassionallystirr the material till the entire quantity is applied, sothat solids do not settle at the bottom of the container.Mixing RatioHydroproof Xtra liquid Neat cement0.5L 1 kg1L 2kg5L 10 kg20L 40 kgFor white colour - mix white cement, for other colours, addcement compatible pigments to white cement.ApplicationFor best results, wet the surface before coating. Apply the mixwith a short, stiff bristle brush like a paint to an approximatethickness of 1 to 2mm. During the first 12 hours of curing,Hydroproof Xtra surface must be protected from abrasion, rainor other adverse conditions. No traffic shall be allowed within48 hours after application.Normally 2 coats of application of Hydroproof Xtra are recommended.First coat should be allowed to air dry for 5 - 6 hours.After application of the final coat, initial air drying shall be allowedfor 2 to 6 hours. During this period water should not beused for curing. Moist curing should be done for the next 24hours by spraying water on Hydroproof Xtra coating. Followingmoist curing, Hydroproof Xtra should be allowed to dry for threedays before subjecting it to submersion in water
