Product Details
A pneumatic cylinder is a mechanical device that uses compressed air to produce linear motion and force. It consists of a hollow cylinder, a piston, and a piston rod. The compressed air is introduced into the cylinder, which pushes the piston to create movement. Pneumatic cylinders are commonly used in various industrial applications for automation, lifting, pushing, pulling, and other mechanical tasks. Basic Components: Cylinder Tube: The outer casing of the cylinder, usually made of metal or aluminum, which houses the piston. Piston: A sliding disc or part inside the cylinder that moves back and forth as the air pressure changes. Piston Rod: A rod connected to the piston, extending outside of the cylinder to perform work, like moving an object. End Caps: These are located at both ends of the cylinder, sealing the tube and allowing for air intake and exhaust. Seals: Prevent air from escaping and ensure the pressure is maintained inside the cylinder. Types of Pneumatic Cylinders: Single-Acting Cylinder: Air is supplied to only one side of the piston, and the piston moves in one direction only. A spring usually returns the piston to its original position. Double-Acting Cylinder: Air is supplied to both sides of the piston, allowing the piston to move in both directions under pressure. Rodless Cylinder: A cylinder where the piston moves without a traditional rod, often used in compact spaces. Telescopic Cylinder: A cylinder that has multiple nested tubes, extending in stages to provide a long stroke from a relatively compact form.
