A flow meter is a device that measures how much liquid or gas moves through a pipeline in a given period of time. By measuring flow rates, flow meters provide crucial visibility into what's flowing where, within pipes, drainage systems, and other types of infrastructure.Multi-jet meters are very accurate in small sizes and are commonly used up to 2 inch sizes for residential and small commercial users. Multi-jet meters use multiple ports surrounding an internal chamber to create multiple jets of water against an impeller, whose rotation speed depends on the velocity of water flow.A water flow meter is a device able to measure the amount of water that is flowing through a pipe. Water flow meters are used in both commercial and residential buildings and locations.There are two conventional measuring devices for water flow measurement, the positive displacement water meter and the velocity meter. Less common options include non-mechanical designs of electromagnetic and ultrasonic meters and electromagnetically meters.The prime objective of any flow meter is to measure flow rate in terms of volume or mass. However, if the size of the hole is known, the volumetric flow rate can be determined by multiplying the velocity by the area of the hole.
