A bucket elevator consists of buckets mounted on a belt or chain enclosed in a steel casing. The material is picked up from the inlet (boot section), lifted vertically, and discharged at the outlet (head section). It is designed for high capacity and compact installation compared to inclined conveyors.
Operational Principle :- The bucket elevator unloading can be divided into three types: centrifugal, gravity, and mixed. The hopper scoops up the material from the storage below. As the conveyor belt or chain rises to the top, it bypasses the top wheel and flips downwards. The bucket elevator dumps the material into the receiving tank. The transmission belt of bucket elevators with transmission generally adopts rubber belts, which are installed on the lower or upper moving rollers and the upper and lower variable direction rollers. Chain driven bucket elevators are generally equipped with two parallel transmission chains, with a pair of transmission sprockets above or below and a pair of variable direction sprockets below or above. Bucket elevators are usually equipped with a casing to prevent dust from flying in the bucket elevator.
