A Cast Iron Sluice Valve, also commonly known as a Cast Iron Gate Valve, is a type of industrial valve used primarily for on/off service to control the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in pipelines. It operates by raising or lowering a gate or wedge-shaped disc,which slides perpendicularly to the direction of fluid flow. A Cast Iron Sluice Valve, also commonly known as a Cast Iron Gate Valve, is a type of industrial valve used primarily for on/off service to control the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in pipelines. It operates by raising or lowering a gate or wedge-shaped disc, which slides perpendicularly to the direction of fluid flow. How it Works: When the valve is fully open, the gate is completely lifted out of the fluid path, providing an unobstructed flow and minimal pressure drop. When fully closed, the gate is lowered to block the flow completely, providing a tight shut-off. The movement of the gate is typically controlled by a handwheel, lever, or an actuator (electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic).
