A Chemical Earthing Electrode is a modern grounding solution that replaces traditional salt-and-charcoal pits with a metal pipe (typically GI or copper) filled with and surrounded by specialized Back Fill Compounds (BFC) like bentonite or graphite. These chemicals retain moisture and lower soil resistivity, providing a maintenance-free, low-resistance path for fault currents for 10–15 years.
