CNC machining to cut dies and molds ensures high tolerance, precision, repeatability, and consistency. Modern techniques are sophisticated.CNC machining makes machining these metals to the desired tolerances simple. Less frequently, CNC machining is used for finishing injection molded parts. During the molding process, it is common for the part to acquire parting lines, gate marks, and ejector pin divots.Dies and molds are both tools for shaping. Dies are used to shape sheet metal and other metal forms. A typical application is the making of automobile body parts. On the other hand, molds are used in injection molding such as with melted resin or casting molten metal.By definition CNC (Computerized Numerical Control) means controlling a machine tool or other device automatically by a computer instead of direct manipulation by an operator.The molding machine heats the plastic until it is liquid. The nozzle of the injection molding machine then injects the melted plastic into the mold (injection pressure). The cavity of the mold is now filled with the plastic liquid. This will then cool down to form a solid product.
