They have a central core or a force sensing element made from a material that deforms slightly when a compressive force is applied. The deformation is measured by strain gauges attached to the load cell, which convert the mechanical deformation into an electrical signal. Working Principle: Compression load cells work based on the principle of strain gauges. These are sensitive devices that change their electrical resistance when they are deformed under pressure. When a compressive force is applied to the load cell, it compresses slightly. This deformation causes a change in the electrical resistance of the strain gauges, which can then be calibrated to provide an accurate measurement of the applied force.
