Description
Tubular heat exchangers that utilize convection heat transfer to preheat combustion air or gas for saving fuel. Convection recuperators are comprised of tube bundles with the tubes welded to the tube sheets to assure gas tightness.A recuperator is a type of heat exchanger that has separate flow paths for each fluid throughout its passages and heat is transferred through the separating walls. Most recuperators operate as counter-flow heat exchangers.Regenerators and recuperators are heat exchange systems that recover heat by cycling through heat sinks (regenerators) or through a high temperature metallic heat exchanger (recuperators). II Applications. The heat recovered by a regenerator or recuperator is most commonly used to preheat combustion air to a furnace.
