Convection recuperators are comprised of tube bundles with the tubes welded to the tube sheets to assure gas tightness.A recuperator is a type of heat exchanger that has separate flow paths for each fluid throughout its passages and heat is transferred through the separating walls. Most recuperators operate as counter-flow heat exchangers.Regenerators and recuperators are heat exchange systems that recover heat by cycling through heat sinks (regenerators) or through a high temperature metallic heat exchanger (recuperators). II Applications. The heat recovered by a regenerator or recuperator is most commonly used to preheat combustion air to a furnace.
