A Copper Chemical Earthing Electrode is a high-performance grounding rod designed to provide a low-resistance path for electrical fault currents and lightning.Unlike traditional pipe earthing that requires regular salt and charcoal layering, these electrodes are "maintenance-free." They consist of a hollow copper or copper-bonded pipe filled with a crystalline conductive compound and are surrounded by a Backfill Compound (BFC) in the ground to maintain moisture and soil conductivity.Core Components The Electrode: Usually a high-quality copper pipe or a copper-bonded steel rod (typically with 250+ microns of copper coating) for maximum conductivity and corrosion resistance. Internal Filling: A factory-filled chemical paste or crystalline mixture that helps dissipate heat and current evenly. Backfill Compound (BFC): A moisture-retaining, non-corrosive substance (like Bentonite or graphite-based minerals) poured around the rod during installation to ensure low resistance even in dry soil. Why Choose It? Durability: Lasts much longer than GI (Galvanised Iron) electrodes, often 15–20+ years, because copper doesn't rust easily.
