A Current Transformer (CT) is used to measure the current of another circuit. CTs are used worldwide to monitor high-voltage lines across national power grids. A CT is designed to produce an alternating current in its secondary winding that is proportional to the current that it is measuring in its primary.The power transformer is a device that converts bulk electrical power from one frequency to another. It uses an electromagnetic field to create a magnetic field in the metal coils, which stores electrical energy and then provides it back in the form of an electric field when the action button is turned on.A transformer is an electrical apparatus that manipulates the level of voltage flowing through any point in a power grid. In a distribution system, the transformer decreases the voltage traveling through power lines to a level more suitable for residential and commercial use.Transformers are used in electric circuits to change the voltage of electricity flowing in the circuit. It is used to increase the voltage (called 'stepping up') or decrease the voltage ('stepping down') in AC circuits.
