A drying oven is a heated chamber used to remove water, moisture, and other solvents from objects. These ovens typically have a fan or turbine which sparks the convection process that heats and dries the materials inside.Drying ovens can be used in laboratory or industrial settings for a variety of tasks including evaporation, sterilization, temperature testing, and for incubating temperature sensitive experiments. Drying is a delicate process as drying too fast, too slow, or unevenly can ruin an otherwise perfect process.Lab Drying Oven. A standard drying oven is designed to remove moisture from the oven chamber to dry samples as quickly as possible. This type of oven brings in fresh, dry air into the chamber whilst simultaneously removing the moist air.Oven drying works well if you can set your oven to a temperature of 140 to 150°F [60 – 65 C]. Open the oven door 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm) to allow moisture to escape.
