The VMR Series is manufactured by Elektrogas (Italy). It is one of the most widely used safety solenoid valves for gas and air in industrial burners, boilers, and furnaces. It is known for being a "Fast Opening" and "Fast Closing" valve. 1. Key Characteristics Action: Normally Closed (NC). It opens only when energized and closes immediately (Fail-Safe) when power is cut. Operation: Fast Opening (< 1 sec) and Fast Closing (< 1 sec). Flow Adjustment: Features a manual flow rate adjustment screw on the top (except for 4", 5", 6", and brass models). Service: Rated for 100% ED (Continuous Duty). 2. Detailed Technical Specifications The VMR series covers a wide range of pressures and pipe sizes to suit different industrial needs. Model Variations VMR (Standard): Fast opening, aluminum body, adjustable flow. VMR OTN: Brass body versions (usually for $1/4$" to $1/2$" sizes). VMR6 / VMR 60: High-pressure versions rated for up to 6 bar (90 PSI). VML (Related Series): The Slow Opening version of the VMR (opening time adjustable up to 30s). VMM (Double Valve): Two VMR valves combined into one housing for space-saving gas trains. 4. Components & Accessories Internal Filter: Includes a 600 µm metal mesh strainer to protect the valve seat (not in brass models). Pressure Taps: Standard $1/4$" G pressure gauge connections on both sides of the inlet. CPI / PCS Switch: Optional "Closed Position Indicator" or "Proof of Closure" switch can be fitted to the bottom to signal the control system. Visual Indicator: A mechanical indicator can be added to the top to show if the valve is open or closed at a glance. 5. Adjustment Instructions To adjust the gas flow on a VMR valve: Remove the plastic cap from the top of the coil. Loosen the locking nut/dowel with an Allen wrench. Turn the internal screw: Clockwise to decrease flow, Counter-clockwise to increase flow. Re-tighten the locking nut and replace the cap.
