Product Details
ER316L is a low-carbon (L) austenitic stainless steel filler wire (TIG or MIG) used for welding 316 and 316L stainless steels, as well as other high-chromium steels. Its key characteristic is the addition of molybdenum, which provides excellent corrosion resistance, especially against chloride-induced pitting and intergranular corrosion. The low carbon content prevents sensitization (carbide precipitation) during welding, ensuring strong, durable welds for applications in chemical, fertilizer, petroleum, and food processing industries. Key Characteristics Composition: It is an austenitic stainless steel with a chemical composition similar to 316 stainless steel, but with an ultra-low carbon content (typically ≤0.03%) to prevent carbide precipitation. Molybdenum Content: The presence of molybdenum significantly enhances its corrosion resistance, particularly in chloride-containing environments. Corrosion Resistance: Offers excellent resistance to general corrosion and, specifically, pitting and intergranular corrosion. Weldability
