Laser hallmarking was developed in the late 1990s and removes a tiny portion of metal from the article rather than displacing it. This allows us to mark hollow, thin or highly polished items without fear of bruising, scratching or distortion.Fiber laser marking refers to the process of leaving an impression on items using a fiber laser beam of light. The marking machine extracts concentrated energy from light and uses it as the laser beam.Fiber lasers are everywhere in the modern world. Due to the different wavelengths they can generate, they are widely used in industrial environments to perform cutting, marking, welding, cleaning, texturing, drilling and a lot more. They are also used in other fields such as telecommunication and medicine.A fiber laser is a type of solid-state laser that uses an optical fiber as a gain medium. The core in the center of the fiber is doped with a rare-earth element, Yb (ytterbium), and has the highest refractive index. A 1.1 μm Laser light and Pump light propagate in this Yb-doped center core.
