Integral tanks are areas inside the aircraft structure that have been sealed to allow fuel storage.The Difference Between Single Wall and Double Wall Fuel Tanks. Single wall tanks only have one shell encasing the fuel, whereas double wall tanks have an inner shell surrounded by a second, larger containment shell. Every fuel tank requires secondary containment that will prevent fuel from entering the environment, An atmospheric storage tank stores products at the same pressure as the atmosphere at the location of the tank. Atmospheric storage tanks are typically vented to the surrounding atmosphere, and they are designed to function at pressures ranging from the pressure of the atmosphere up to 0.5 psig.A vessel made of all carbon fibre, with an inner liner of polyamide or polyethylene plastic.
