A silo is a structure for storing bulk materials. Silos are used in agriculture to store grain or fermented feed known as silage. Silos are more commonly used for bulk storage of grain, food products.Mechcon manufactures excellent quality Storage Silos with maximum storage capacity. We use top quality High Grade SS & Carbon Steel in our production line, Metal silos are containers for storing maize, beans and other grain. They have a cylinder shape and are manufactured with galvanised sheets. Both the upper lid of the silo and the bottom are flat.Silos are used in agriculture to store grain, powders, fermented feed (known as silage) and animal slurry. Silos are used by other industries for bulk storage of coal, cement, sand, woodchips, metal waste, food products and sawdust.The tanks which are used for large-scale storage of grains are known as silos. These are huge metallic storage units which can protect against natural damages or man-made damages. They also stay protected from pests due to the introduction of certain chemicals that protect the grains from the insects.Silos have an opening and closing provisions for loading and unloading the materials. The interior surface of the silos is made smooth and lined with special coatings to avoid any reaction with the content stored.The use of storage silos presents several advantages: They need less area to store the same amount of material than if it were stored in a horizontal warehouse. Products are stored in optimal conditions. Its cost is lower than that of other storage systems.
