Deep Drawing is a process in sheet metal forming by the Hydraulic action of a punch. A flat sheet metal blank is formed over a single, rigid, shape defining tool half by a flexible rubber diaphragm under uniform hydro-static pressure.Also known as metal pressing, deep drawing is a sheet metal forming process which is typically done at room temperature. It uses radial tension-tangential compression to form the metal and is used in a press with other forming techniques, such as beading and coining.For deep-drawing applications, hydraulic presses provide exceptional flexibility. They also offer programming versatility, which can be used to optimise them for each specific use for maximum productivity and finished-product integrity.A hydraulic press is a machine press using a hydraulic cylinder to generate a compressive force. It uses the hydraulic equivalent of a mechanical lever, and was also known as a Bramah press after the inventor, Joseph Bramah, of England. He invented and was issued a patent on this press in 1795.
