Methylene dichloride, also known as dichloromethane (DCM), is a colorless, volatile liquid with a sweet, chloroform-like odor. It is a halogenated organic solvent widely used in various industrial applications due to its excellent solvency and low boiling point. One of the primary uses of methylene dichloride is as a solvent in paint stripping, degreasing, and adhesive removal processes.
