This design allows for a low profile and increased stability under tension forces. Tension Focused: These load cells are primarily designed to measure tension (pulling forces) and are often used in applications where the load is applied in the form of a pulling force, as opposed to compression (pushing). Working Principle: Like other load cells, the pancake type tension load cell works by using strain gauges attached to the sensing element.
