In Line Magnetic Separator (ILMS) are used for continuous and automatic extraction or discharge of unwanted magnetic pieces (tramp iron) from the point where coal being discharged from conveyor.Magnetic separators can be of the belt type or drum type. In the drum a permanent magnet is often located inside a rotating shell. Material passes under the drum on a belt. A belt separator is similar except that the magnet is located between pulleys around which a continuous belt travels.It keeps all materials pure. Recycling centres use magnetic separation often to separate components from recycling, isolate metals, and purify ores. Overhead magnets, magnetic pulleys, and the magnetic drums were the methods used in the recycling industry.
