Laser beam welding is a fusion welding process in which two metal pieces are joined together by the use of laser. The laser beam provides a concentrated heat source, focused to the cavity between the two metal pieces to be joined.Laser beam welding works on the principle of using a laser with high power density to apply heat to a joint between the surface of two metals. The material melts at the joint, and it permits fusion between the metals as it solidifies, Solid-state laser welding uses ores such as yttrium, aluminum, and garnet (as with YAG laser welding) to produce light. Recently, fiber laser welding using optical fibers for oscillation, as well as semiconductor lasers and disk lasers developed from YAG lasers have increased in popularity.Laser” is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser generates energy in the form of light which is in or close to the optical portion of the electromagnetic spectrum. The laser energy is amplified to extremely high intensity by an atomic process called stimulated emission.
