Exide is India's largest manufacturer of lead acid storage batteries and its biggest power-storage solutions provider.The lead–acid battery consists of two electrodes submerged in an electrolyte of sulfuric acid. The positive electrode is made of grains of metallic lead oxide, while the negative electrode is attached to a grid of metallic lead. Lead–acid batteries are classified into two types: flooded and valve-regulated.The lead-acid battery represents the oldest rechargeable battery technology. Lead acid batteries can be found in a wide variety of applications including small scale power storage such as UPS systems, starting lighting and ignition power sources for automobiles, along with large, grid-scale power systems.
