Lead-lined doors and frames prevent the transmission of radiation. They are commonly specified for x-ray protection in clinics, hospitals, imaging centres, veterinary offices and other healthcare environments.A lead lined door contains a sheet of lead that is 1/32″, 1/16″, or 1/8 thick, situated inside a mineral or wood core. The edges and astral are also lead lined. Leaded glass may be used for kites, as well.
