The oil injected rotary screw compressor is a positive displacement type compressor. A given quantity of air or gas is trapped in a compression chamber and the space that it occupies is mechanically reduced, causing a corresponding rise in pressure prior to discharge.Belt-drive air compressors use a belt that connects the air pump to the motor. This belt turns when the motor operates, running the compressor's air pump. The pulley sizes the belt runs through in the pump determine the pressure and speed the air compressor can reach.With the simple maintenance practice of regular lubrication to the belt, belt drive compressors are highly reliable, and they run quietly. There's also the added benefit that belt-driven compressors tend to be more affordable than other compressor optionsDirect drive air compressors have fewer moving components than belt drive compressors, so they do not require as many part replacements due to wear and tear.
