A fiber laser cutting machine uses active optical fibers to create a laser beam and a transport fiber to transmit this to the machine's cutting head. This super hot laser is condensed down to a narrow beam and is used to cut through metals of various thicknesses, A fiber laser is a type of solid-state laser that uses an optical fiber as a gain medium. The core in the center of the fiber is doped with a rare-earth element, Yb (ytterbium), and has the highest refractive index. A 1.1 μm Laser light and Pump light propagate in this Yb-doped center core.A CNC laser cutter is a piece of computer numerical control (CNC) equipment that uses a focused, high-powered laser beam to mark, cut, or engrave a material to form custom shapes.
