It is cheaper & more abundant than Ceylon variety with its value depending mainly on percentage of cinnamic aldehyde which it contains. Oil Properties Cassia oil has a warm pungent smell. Uses It is is used as a physical & emotional stimulant, affecting the libido and known for its qualities. Its aroma in a room also reduces drowsiness, pain, irritability and frequency of headaches. It also helps in relaxing tight muscles, menstrual cramps, ease joint pain and increase circulation. Further, it is also used as spice & food flavoring as well as for treatment of digestive complaints. Therapeutic Properties carminative, anti-diarrhea, anti-microbial and anti-emetic. Blends Well With Balsam peru, chamomile, frankincense, caraway, ginger, nutmeg, Geranium, rosemary, black pepper, and all spices, coriander, & citrus oils. Summary Cassia as a dried herb can be useful for digestive complaints such as flatulence, colic, dyspepsia, diarrhea and nausea. It can also be used for colds, influenza, fevers, arthritis and rheumatism. Cassia oil should not be used in massage therapy. Precautions Cassia oil should not be used on the skin as it is a dermal irritant, dermal sensitizer and is a mucus membrane irritant.
