Product Details
Polycab Fire Survival Cables, primarily marketed under the IGNIS series, are high-integrity electrical conductors designed to maintain power and signal transmission during a fire for up to 3 hours at temperatures reaching 950°C. They are essential for life-safety systems like emergency lighting, fire alarms, and sprinklers in high-occupancy buildings such as hospitals, malls, and subways. Fire Integrity: Capable of withstanding direct flame at 950°C (Protocol C) and water spray simulating sprinklers (Protocol W). Voltage Grade: Available in 300/500V and 600/1000V (0.6/1kV) ratings. Operating Temperature: Rated for continuous operation from -40°C to +90°C, with a short-circuit limit of 250°C. Construction Layers: Conductor: Stranded plain or tinned annealed copper (Class 2). Fire Barrier: Two layers of high-temperature glass mica tape. Insulation: Typically XLPE (Cross-Linked Polyethylene), but also available in Silicone Rubber or XL-LSZH. Armouring: Galvanised steel round wire or flat strip for mechanical protection. Sheathing: Extruded LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) as standard, though FRLS (Flame Retardant Low Smoke) is available on demand.
