Reinforced cement concrete spun pipes upto 1000 mm dia are exclusively reserved for manufacture in the SSI sector. These pipes are widely used for water drainage, sewerage, culverts and irrigation. RCC pipes are classified as pressure and non pressure pipes viz.Asbestos cement pipes are made of a mixture of asbestos paste and cement compressed by steel rollers to form a laminated material of great strength and density. its carrying capacity remains substantially constant as when first laid, irrespective of the quality of water.Concrete pipe making Machines cast them with the rotating mold giving a hollow shape thus making it compact and strong. Iron reinforcements can also be added sometimes. Concrete pipe making equipment inserts a steel pipe which compresses the mixture to make hollow shapes in the finally dried concrete pipes.Concrete pipes have been used widely for water mains. The resin within the mix provides for bonding the aggregate much like Portland Cement does in traditional concrete pipes.
