Recessed-plate filter presses are used to remove water from liquid wastewater residuals and produce a non-liquid material referred to as “cake”. Recessed-plate filter presses are among the oldest types of dewatering devices and can produce the highest cake solids concentration of any mechanical dewatering equipment.A filter press is a piece of equipment used in liquid/solid separation. Specifically, the filter press separates the liquids and solids using pressure filtration, wherein a slurry is pumped into the filter press and is dewatered under pressure.You use a plate filter for filtering liquids, using a highly efficient technique. How? For example, several plate-shaped filter elements are assembled together and a liquid is forced through them under pressure. This leaves the solids behind. Tip: the more plates your filter has, the finer the filtration.
