noun. : the movement of fresh water through a semipermeable membrane when pressure is applied to a solution (such as seawater) on one side of it. A RO Plant removes the salt and impurities from briny or brine (Unwanted/waste particle-like arsenic & fluoride) therefore leading to drinkable water. Reverse Osmosis is a technology that accustoms purified water. This technology removes giant particles, bacteria, and unwanted molecules or ions from water Reverse Osmosis (RO) works by reversing the principle of osmosis, the natural tendency of water with dissolved salts to flow through a membrane from lower to higher salt concentration. This process is found throughout nature. Plants use it to absorb water and nutrients from the soil .It is a process by which plants maintain their water content despite the constant water loss due to transpiration. This process controls the cell to cell diffusion of water. Osmosis induces cell turgor which regulates the movement of plants and plant parts. Osmosis also controls the dehiscence of fruits and sporangia.
