Product Description
Reverse osmosis is the process or the technology which is used to remove ions, mineral chemicals, and other impurities from drinking water. In this process, greater pressure is applied, forcing the water to travel through the semipermeable membrane in opposite to natural osmosis.or reverse osmosis, is a technique that is used to remove minerals and impurities from water, such as chloramine, salts, and heavy metals. This is fine to give to plants, and some prefer it because it lacks certain minerals that can cause issues with fertilizers.The salt solution is subjected to pressure against the semi-permeable membrane. Remember that the applied pressure is greater than the osmotic pressure. Thereby, the molecules move easily from a highly concentrated solution to a less concentrated solution.When pressure is added, to the higher level side, that is greater than the current osmotic pressure the flow will be reversed. This reversal allows the contaminant solution to be further concentrated and produces purified water. The adding of pressure to enact the reversal is called Reverse Osmosis or RO.
