These turbulators consists of oval wire looks soldered to a solid / rigid center rod. As shown in the picture, this type of Turbulator is usually soldered inside the tube and are very widely used in Oil Coolers. This is a very efficient Turbulator and works in the following way: The individual wire loops cut the Oil flow making it turbulent.The concentric arrangement of loops direct the fluid flow in a concentric path providing additional turbulation as well as increasing the length travelled.The Turbulator being soldered inside the tube gives the additional advantage of heat transfer through the bonding of the Turbulator to the tube wall.Among the turbulators we make, generally this is the most efficient both in terms of heat transfer as well as pressure drop. It however does have the following disadvantages: At higher temperatures (180 degrees C or 280 degrees C depending on the type of solder used) the solder can melt. Hence it cannot be used for temperatures exceeding these limits).Being a soldered Turbulator, it is more expensive.Once soldered inside the tube it cannot be removed. So it is not suitable in case of dirty fluids.Soldering the turbulators inside the tubes is difficult. So customers have to order tubes from us with the turbulators pre fitted. This limits flexibility.It is possible to use these turbulators without soldering them inside tubes. In that case, they provide slightly lower heat transfer.
