Energy Combustion, Ahmedabad supplier of Kromschoder Flame sensor.The UVZ780 is a ultraviolet (UV) flame detector manufactured by Kromschröder (part of the Honeywell group). It is primarily designed for monitoring gas flames in industrial burner applications. Unlike the Siemens sensors discussed previously, this unit is specifically tailored for use with Kromschröder's own burner control units. UVZ 780 White (Medium): For applications where standard sensitivity is too high. UVZ 780 Red (Low): Used for high-capacity burners to prevent saturation or "over-exposure" from very large flames. Compatibility The UVZ780 is designed to work seamlessly with the following Kromschröder burner control units: BCU 370 / 440 / 460 / 480 IFS 110 / 244 / 258 PFS 778 / 748 Key Features Side-on and End-on viewing: Depending on the housing configuration, it can be used for frontal or lateral flame monitoring. Rugged Construction: Its IP54 rating and high temperature tolerance make it suitable for heavy industrial environments like kilns and furnaces. Quartz Glass Protection: The sensor is protected by a quartz glass pane that is transparent to UV light but resistant to thermal stress. Installation & Maintenance Avoid Ignition Spark: The sensor is sensitive to UV radiation from ignition sparks. It must be positioned so it cannot "see" the spark, or the control unit must be configured to ignore the signal during the ignition period. Cooling Air: For high-temperature applications, it is often mounted using a cooling air adapter to prevent the sensor from exceeding its $80^\circ\text{C}$ limit. Cleaning: The quartz glass must be kept clean. Even a thin film of oil or dust can significantly reduce UV sensitivity.
