The sodium ions in the salt solution displace the calcium and magnesium ions on the resin, effectively recharging the resin and preparing it for the next softening cycle.Rinse Cycle: After regeneration, the water softener goes through a rinse cycle to remove any excess salt and other impurities from the resin bed. This ensures that the treated water is free from excess sodium or chloride ions.Control Valve: A control valve is an integral part of a water softener system.
