Product Details
Triethylene glycol (TEG) is a colorless, odorless liquid with the chemical formula C6H14O4. It is a member of the glycol family and is miscible with water and most organic solvents. TEG is primarily used as a dehydration agent in natural gas processing and as a hygroscopic agent in air conditioning systems to remove moisture from air. It also finds application as a solvent in the production of resins, paints, and varnishes, as well as in the formulation of hydraulic fluids, brake fluids, and antifreeze solutions. Additionally, TEG is utilized in the textile industry as a softening agent for fabrics and fibers. Due to its low volatility and hygroscopic properties, TEG is considered relatively safe for handling but should be used with appropriate safety precautions
