1. General Type: RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete) in-ground swimming pool Standards & Codes: IS 456 (Plain & Reinforced Concrete) ACI 318 (Structural Concrete) ANSI/NSPI Standards for Swimming Pools Design Life: 30–40 years (with proper waterproofing & maintenance) Applications: Residential, Farmhouse, Hotels, Resorts, Sports Complexes 2. Excavation & Site Preparation Excavation: As per approved pool design/drawings with slope for stability Base Preparation: 150–200 mm thick sand/stone dust layer compacted PCC (Plain Cement Concrete) levelling course: M10 (1:3:6 mix), thickness 75–100 mm 3. RCC Structure Concrete Grade: M25–M30 with waterproofing admixture Base Slab: 200–300 mm thick RCC slab with double reinforcement mesh Walls: 150–200 mm RCC walls with Fe500 TMT bars Coping Beam / Top Edge: RCC beam with stone/tiles coping finish Slope: 1:50 slope towards main drain for water evacuation 4. Reinforcement Steel Type: Fe500 TMT bars Bar Diameter: 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm (depending on structural design) Spacing: As per structural engineer's design (usually 150–200 mm c/c) Anchoring: Proper lap length, hooks, and chairs for stability 5. Waterproofing Admixtures: Integral waterproofing admixture in RCC mix Joints: PVC water stops at construction joints Coating: Cementitious waterproofing slurry (2–3 coats) Optional: PU / Epoxy coating for additional protection Tile Grouting: Epoxy grout for water resistance 6. Finishing (Internal Surfaces) Plastering: 15–20 mm thick waterproof plaster (1:4 mix with waterproofing compound) Tile Lining: Glass mosaic tiles (premium option) Anti-skid ceramic pool tiles (standard option) Epoxy grout for tile joints Alternatives: Vinyl liner or epoxy paint (economical) 7. Decking / Surrounding Area Deck Width: 1.2 m (minimum) around pool Material Options: Non-slip tiles / Natural stone (Kota, Granite, Sandstone) Wooden / WPC deck for luxury finishes Slope: Away from pool (1:60) for drainage 8. Plumbing Provisions Embedded Pipes: UPVC/CPVC Class III or Schedule 40 pipes cast in RCC Drainage: Dual main drain with anti-vortex cover Inlets: Return inlets, skimmer lines, overflow channels Conduits: Separate conduits for underwater lights (IP68) 9.
