Key Characteristics Low Carbon Content (L):The restricted carbon content (max 0.03%) prevents sensitization and intergranular corrosion. Increased Silicon (Si):This higher silicon content improves wetting (the ability of the molten weld to spread) and allows for better control of the weld bead, resulting in a smoother finish. Corrosion Resistance:Offers good general and intergranular corrosion resistance in oxidizing acids and urban/rural environments. Welding Applications:Primarily used for welding base metals like AISI 304 and 304L stainless steel in applications such as chemical processing, dairy equipment, and pipe fabrication. Weld Metal Composition:The weld metal typically contains 20-21% Chromium and 9-10% Nickel.
